Halıcıoğlu Sports Complex

The project involved designing a multi
level parking garage utilizing the site’s
elevation difference beneath the existing
Halıcıoğlu sports field located at Halıcıoğlu
Square, with a sports complex constructed
above it. Vehicle access is provided at
the lower elevation, revealing a circular
ramp that creates a sculptural effect.
The parking garage is situated three levels
below the square level, while football fields
and related facilities are placed on the
upper floors. The wrestling hall, requiring
larger spans, is designed on the top floor
just beneath the main structural shell.
The overall building is enveloped by a main
shell that transitions from a square form to
a triangle and back to a square. This form
variation necessitates special steel frames at
every structural axis to support the shell. The
side facades of the shell are designed to be
permeable to air and light. The roof cladding
uses standing seam metal panels, interspersed
with glass sections to allow natural daylight
into the complex.
